Chimney Inspections
Yearly inspections of both gas and wood burning fireplaces are required by the National Fire Protection Agency to ensure a safe and proper working chimney system.
Water from the weather can penetrate into chimney systems over time. When this water freezes, it expands and can cause cracks in key parts of the chimney. Cracks can negatively impact the safety of the system because hot gasses can escape. Water damage over time can also deteriorate mortar and cause structural integrity issues.
